So things never worked as planned, and the Maria's remained, as a thought instead of a memory, until last week! Was asked by my dock neighbor if I wanted to go for two days and I jumped all over it! Nice big sportfisher with tuna tower. Problem was, these guys were fisherman, and when we spotted two different schools of porpoise holding tuna out front, they were trolling a shit ton of lures and bait, of which I wanted no part of jumping in front of!! That's it, two shots and never even got wet in two days. Not gonna lie, I was a little bummed when I got back, and couldn't wait to go to the rock and shoot some fish. Shot some really nice fish to 60 lbs. But more important, saw a cow! Was so amazing, and she slipped off into the blue. And a group of four that were 200 lb fish cruised just outside my shooting range. But I went home stoked, and ready to go back-which was today.
Not gonna bore you with more pics of 60 lb fish, but I will tell you about the fish I saw today!!! Oh my lord! It was massive, and as it swam ON THE SURFACE 40-50 feet away I froze and it literally took my breath away!! It's top sickle was sticking up out of the water, kinda collapsing and the bottom sickle made a flowing arch -TO THE TAIL! It was coming straight at me, slowly swiming from side to side. It's girth reminded me of a shot of a guadalupe white shark from the front! As I slowly moved my gun into position, she made her turn, but slowly, so I froze again, hoping she would vere back my way. She didn't. And disappeared.
All I can tell you right now as I type this, I am SO FCKING PUMPED to dive tomorrow!
Only a matter of time until one makes a mistake or lets it's guard down, and I will be there!!
