Dive deep, throw sand, shoot fish, but above all respect the flag!

Alooooha! Life is grand my brudahz!
I give thanx for Sweet Sun, Blue Waters, and meat on the Kui. Had a killer solo dive yesterday from shore.
Insane visuals. After jigging my flashers a bit a small school of 7 Ahi make an appearance, along with a healthy size Ono on the far side of the Ahi pack, and a 40lb Ulua.
Trying to charm to heaviest Ahi in, no go. I than switch my aim towards the Ono, he senses my approach and melts off into the blue.the Ulua is just 10ft away, but my attention is on the Ahi. Focus I think, they're gonna dig out, pick the closest a squeeze before you get schooled out of a shot. The bigger models staying outside, I get a holding shot on one of the Shibi. Just as I Kui the fish, and reload, a curious Mahi came in to check out the commotion. He's swims past my range so I toss a flasher and get a 180 turn by the fish allowing me to close the distance for a shot.
On the way in after a few hours in the lanes I check out the deep ledge. I make a drop to 75' and am greeted by an Uku. I close my eyes, flash my fingers, few moments later I open my eyes and my favourite eating fish presents me with a choice broadside target.
A lite current allows me an easy and safe exit. Auryte!
Aloha Nui.

Aloha boiz. The last couple weeks of Summer have been really giving.
Had a killer solo session last week. The current and wind dumped off allowing me to swim out further.
I was in about 65fathoms when 4 nice shibi make a showing. They make 15mph-20mph strikes on my palu. Beautiful sight. The Ahi are 45lb-75lb range. Right about 10 secs into sink phase one of the Ahi comes in on the dine I have my gun aimed at. I squeeze the trigger 2 lengths in front the fish and am blessed with a holding shot. Super fun dive, with a Kahala on the Kui also.
Aloha.

Had such a zen-full dive yesterday off the rocks! Not a soul around, no boats trolling, just my thoughts and me out in the lanes. Wind was lite, current an easy 1/2K.
I get Two Ono that show up for the chum banquet party. I get a holding shot on this healthy Ono as he turned to my left to investigate the tossed flasher and presented a perfect broadside profile. He freight trains my line with 3 hard runs making me chase my buoy. While stringing my dinner four Mahi cruise in for a looksy. Unable to reload in time they melt off into the blue. Pumped! These visuals never get old, excited always as if it's my first sighting. I give thanx. Life is Ono!

Rite on Duff, thanx for the intel. All other fins are gooshy compared to the Moanas.
Mahalos for the good words you guys.
I'm at 51m right now, not too deep for the worlds.
I have been training consistant with Leo Muraoka he's going for the National FIM Record, currently 86m held by Rob King out of FL. Leo's going for 87m next month at Vertical Bleu. We've been steady on it getting him ready. Part of his training Leo slam's 45m on a negative in almost 2min. Truly inspiring! I don't have enough funds to compete at this year, plus I'd like to get some deeper numbers so I can play with the big Boiz.
Aloha friends.

Super stoked! And super thankful for some Mahi and Ahi on a dive off the rocks. I'm not out in the lanes 20 min and am greeted by a crew of 8 Mahi, toss a flasher, and I get a curious stray that ends up on my Kui. Auryte! Scratched da itch!
Swimming deeper to about 50fathoms a solid school of about 10 Ahi come in on feed strikes bangin out my Dines about an hour later.
The Ahi are in feed frenzy at 6o'-70' as I sink phase to that depth and hover. My eyes go wide and white as a 150lb-170lb Dozer is comin up vertically. 90'...80'....as he's coming shallow 50lb-60lbers are swarmin between me and the healthy owner of long golden glowing sickles. 10' more feet I'm thinkin and ready for the battle.
The toad veers off just 5' out of range. Not wanting to maim or Mortaly wound the fish, I decide against a hail mary. I'm at the end of my lung hold and know the big Ahi is wise to my want, I quickly focus and aim on the closest fish and squeeze. Pumped! Bust Da spine!
Aloooha!!

Kinda tripy, varies between island groups.
When I fish with the old timers Palu Ahi bag who are strictly commercial, 40lb and under are Shibi 40lb and over are Ahi.
That's what Suisan guys call em(main commercial buyer). Single digits are mice, teens are rats, 50-100lb+ Ahi, 200lb+ Gorilla. 300lb+ my wet dream!

Stoked on this Mahi from shore. Killer Dinner with da Fam. Water was hazy snow, squinting to see into the hazy blue. Plankton bloom is full on. Neap tides comin. Vis opened up at 45'-50'. Water was super milky at the surface, could barely see fish outlines. I literally swam into the school of about 15, looked up, and they were all around me. I give thanx.
Live up! Aloha

Yea Chris on a shore dive solo. Had a nice opelu ball I was throwing palu at, the Black came in hot and made a strike on the bait at 50', than sounded. I followed em down to 80' before I pulled. Stoked on a stone shot. Broke da back! Don't have a scale that big, about 200lb's.
One of my most memorable days forever! I give thanx!!
