Financing Used Outboard

Sell it, borrow, beg and steal. Okay maybe not steal.

Financing Used Outboard

Postby VangysWay » July 24th, 2017, 12:01 pm

As the subject suggests, I'm looking to finance a new or used outboard. Any and all suggestions on where I should be looking would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Go see Eric Peterson at Specialty Marine.
He's a Honda outboard dealer in Oxnard.
Honda will have excellent rates for financing a new outboard. He also sells "dent and scratch" new outboards at a discount rate.

If you go yamaha wait till the long beach fishing show and check out the deals at west coast marine, that's where we got ours for work. Otherwise Joe Westbury is spot on, specialty marine has external blem engines really cheap and Eric came highly recommended as a mechanic for hondas when I looked around, if I remember correctly they came with full warranties http://www.specialty-marine.com/engine- ... honda.html

Don't buy a used engine from some dude on craigslist or BD, whatever unknown problems could become major problems that are unwarrantied.

Alex,
I got my F70 yamaha from inflatable boat specialists in Oxnard. They do all kinds of boat rigging, not just RIBs. Got a scratch and dent model with the extended 6 year warranty. Wait for the promotion to get tha extension for free (or at least they charge you their minimal fee). I'm still waiting to finish my boat, but the engine is ready and paid for.

What engine are you looking at?

Good to know, thanks Pat. I'm currently thinking about financing a 200hp Suzuki.

I'll add to the Suzuki show deals. Sounds like they are the same as Florida. Here they will sometimes give free digital controls with the motor purchase. I have twin Suzuki 200ap's so if you have any questions at all please let me know. I'm pretty sure you have my cell or I can answer here.
