Shaft Cross Drill Fixture for Lathe

Postby Linghunt » December 13th, 2015, 1:57 pm

In the U-tube Video, he demo his clever idea for slotting a motor shaft on the Lathe. Typically this is done on a mill as tool of choice.

This could be modified for use as a cross hole driller. Yet another way to drill cross holes. His concept can be utilized for a number of other operations as well.

Adding the V-groove on the tool fixture with the Lathe, provides PERFECT alignment...

I might have to make one of these just for COOL factor.

Probably old news, figured some might not have seen it.

Glad you liked it.

After thinking about it for a while I think I will make something that will fit an existing holders. This will be other products and not cross hole drilling.

My Heinrich cross hole drill jig is just perfect for this application. A little spendy if you are not drilling lots of holes.

I'll post pictures of what I make for manual lathe later. Maybe a X-mas project.
