Australia is awash in Lobster (WSJ Article)

I had no idea that Chinese demand was so large. I’m curious about the breakdown by country of where they are importing from.

Yeah, a lot of our lobster goes to China as well. That trade dispute means more demand for ours. Local trappers are getting record $/lb.

So I understand. The same commercial guy that told me about the current situation also told me about the really low prices they were getting last year. International trade (politics) is complicated and murky. I won't pretend to know how it all works.

I'm really glad I read that article. The WSJ has a news quiz of 8 or 9 questions every Saturday. It works on my wife since she studies the Journal all week just so she can kick my ass. But anyway that was the answer to one of the questions today and I got it right. Unfortunately I had mentioned the article to my wife so she got it right too. We tied at 5 out of 8 correct but I don't think she would have read that article so I missed my chance to win for a change.
