Oh my gosh, if that's what really living is like then I'm glad I haven't or else I'd be dead already. Those are some hardy souls.

I went swimming in Ireland, but just once. Nancy and I were on a three week bicycle trip from Dublin across to County Sligo on the West Coast, then around the top of the island through Northern Ireland and back down the East Coast to Dublin. A day or two north of Dublin it was warm and sunny and we passed a beautiful white sand beach, so we stopped. The water was flat calm and clear, so I thought I should take a swim just so I could say I had done it. It was a good thing that I did a run and dive entry, because I would never have been able to wade in once I felt it on my legs.

After I hit the water, my first though was that it was a good thing that I had already fathered all the kids I wanted, since my nuts were about to fall off.

But at least it was calm, unlike that raging sea that guy was in.

But open the other hand, I think the water is warmer on the west side where the Gulf Stream hits the island. They actually have some palm trees on the West side.

I'm glad your feeling better Don.

I am a little bit of a cold water swimmer too... love the feeling of getting in to icy water (well, getting out really...)
