I wonder about algae blooms...?

Postby spearthebigones » August 25th, 2019, 10:47 pm

Since plants grow faster in areas that are dense in CO2 and humans have been pulling out the carbon fuel from the ground and burning it back in to the air (which absorbs in to the ocean), this should mean we can expect for algae blooms to get worse in the future as the concentration of CO2 increases.

Everything Trump touches turns to hazy visibility.

There's more to it than that, the algae need fuel. Big rains dump in nitrates in the ocean but it's the cold water that turns over in the wind that finally fuel it.

I remember when I first started diving we had vis just like this. I went all the way to cat for eight foot of vis and it was all red tide around the coast. The only good thing back then was there wasn't any sharks.
